The FSBI will consider applications for financial support of other activities or initiatives that support or promote the Society’s objectives.
The FSBI can offer sponsorship grants of up to £5,000 to fund events or activities that support or promote fish biology and fisheries science. These can include workshops, small meetings, scientific sessions at conferences, symposia, and other such initiatives. The sponsorship grants are not for individual research, travel or training, or for outreach activities, which are supported by other specific FSBI granting schemes.
For example, In 2021 the FSBI helped sponsor the award winning science documentary "Secret Life of Basking Sharks".
How To Apply
Download and fill out the application form below then send to theteam@fsbi.org.uk
All successful applicants must produce a report on the details of the initiatives objectives, the activities that took place and what was achieved at the initiative.
The report may be used in the quarterly newsletter so it must be of sufficient length and detail and ideally have attached images of the sponsored initiative.
There is no deadline for applications.
We aim to achieve the highest standard, maintained through the good will and dedication of the council (who are the charity trustees) for the FSBI. We are always interested to hear member feedback, and are pleased to attend the Annual Symposium to ensure we stay in touch with all those concerned.
